Chapter Seven They grabbed the bottle out of Daniel’s hand. They had already reached an agreement that they were not going to leave
until he was ok. If that meant days, weeks, maybe even years, they would sit there and support their friend. “We are not going any where. You are stuck with us if you like it or not.” Jack grumbled back at him. “Fine whatever, I feel like I’m going to be sick.” Jack and Teal’c helped Daniel to the toilet where he threw up. They knew he was going to have one hell of a hang
over tomorrow. They cleaned him up and put him back to bed. He fell asleep almost instantly, thanks to the liquor. Sam straightened
up his den, when she moved some papers, something caught her eye. There was a ring box. She opened it and Gasp. It was beautiful.
She was surprised that Daniel was going to ask her so soon. She then thought about the events, and realized how badly he
was hurting. She left the box where she found it and went into the kitchen to make coffee. She knew he was going to need it
when he woke up. He woke up the next morning around 7am. He got up and stumbled over Jack. He didn’t remember them being
there but was glad to know that they were there. When he walked in he smelled coffee, He figured Jennifer had made coffee. This prompting him to look around to find her.
When he realized that it wasn’t all a dream he got his coffee and went to hide in his work. That was until General Hammond
called and said that they were needed on base ASAP. Daniel was still upset and grumpy. He didn’t want to go back to work. He had some days off that he needed to take
and he was going to take them. He figured he would see what the general wanted. If it was for him to come back to work he
was seriously thinking about quitting. When he got there they had a memorial service set up there. Everyone said something
nice about her. When it was Daniel’s turn he got up and said: Jennifer Thompson was a good person. I loved her dearly. In a few short months I was going to ask her to be my wife. Now
she is not here with us today, I still know she lives on in my heart, and everyone she touched. I love you Jennifer, and I
always will. Daniel got up and walked out. He was sitting at his desk when he looked up. He thought he was seeing things, when Jack
walked into the room and saw it as well. There stood Jennifer as plain as day. Daniel started crying, when he looked up she was gone. He didn’t know if it was just an illusion or if it was real.
He just need to know that she was ok, and that she didn’t blame him. He knew it was going to take him a long time to
get over this. How long only god knew. At least Oma is taking good care of her. Daniel went home, to a house full of people. He just wanted to be left alone. He wanted to deal with this by himself, and
that was what he was going to do. He shut the light out, and grabbed another bottle of Jack, that he bought on the way home.
He drowned out his sorrows to the point that he passed out. Jack came in to check on him since he hadn’t made a sound for two hours. He found him asleep with Jennifer’s
t-shirt, and another bottle of Jack. He knew just to leave him be. If he wanted to talk, he would come to them. The next day he woke up a little after noon. They were happy that he had slept that long. They heard the shower going and
was happy to see him emerge with a slight smile on his face. He told them to get out of his house that he had work to do.
They wouldn’t leave. So instead of work he turned the TV on and put in one of the videos that they made together of
them goofing around. He started crying and drinking again. He fell asleep on the couch. They let him go on like this for about a month. Then
they told him to get over it and come back to work. Jennifer visits him nightly when she can. Which he is thankful for, He
would be worse off if she didn’t visit. She told him to move on and that he needed to help out the SGC that is why he is there. He had to do what he was meant
to do. So he did. The End |
